What do they do?
The Eco house provides a unique facility to demonstrate various methods of insulation, energy efficiency and alternative energy generating products. It also seeks to raise awareness of how the home contributes to climate change and the effects this has on Global Warming.
Our objective through demonstration is to motivate individuals to understand why it's important to reduce energy consumption, what can be done to save energy, save money, and in turn help save the environment.
What support is offered to Schools?
Tours of the Eco house take about an hour and talk through various energy efficient measures, how to identify how much energy is being consumed and ways of reducing energy consumption. There is an introduction to renewable energy and a look at why it is important that we consider other ways of meeting our energy demand. We also look at recycling and have a wormery ready to take any lunch time left overs.

Through the large variety of displays we aim to raise awareness and create an environment where individuals feel empowered about what they can do to contribute to saving energy.
