At The Hive school groups can learn about food growing and habitats in the form of a number of themed gardens and a growing area.
The main path around the gardens is made of tarmac and zig zags across the slope where The Hive is situated. This path is wheelchair accessible, but sometimes assistance may be required when the path becomes inclined. The paths leading off to the gardens are made from wood chip, so assistance maybe required for those in wheelchairs. However, adjustments can be made to bring some samples of the plants grown in the gardens to more accessible areas of The Hive. The path to the poly tunnel has a small steep incline, so assistance may be required here too.
Learning can be through hands on and sensory activities which are suitable for groups with learning difficulties and visual impairments. The site also has an accessible toilet and a wheelchair accessible classroom.
