The centre is wheelchair accessible as it is all on one level with plenty of room for a wheelchair to move around in the main reception area. This area can get busy as it is also a terminus for the park and ride scheme in the town. There are numerous hands on display in this area which are at wheelchair height regarding recycling, energy and waste. As these displays are ‘hands on’ they would be suitable for learning impairments, visual impairments and hearing impairments.
The centre also has an accessible toilet and a classroom large enough for wheelchairs to move freely. There is no fixed seating and the classroom is fitted with a hearing loop. There is a small garden at the back where the outer perimeter is accessible to wheelchairs.
The Eco Centre can tailor the learning to suit the needs of the group, however, plenty of notice is recommended to get the most from the day.
