What do they do?
They are a community run 17.5 acre working farm, growing fruit and vegetables and raising livestock. They create woodland products, hold workshops and sell produce direct to the community. They offer the opportunity for volunteers to get involved with all aspects of the day-to-day running of the farm.
What support is offered to Schools?
The working days are from 9.30am to 4pm and schools can choose to spend one or more days a week with them. The day starts with a brew and a chat about the days tasks and support staff will be on hand to assist you throughout the day.
Example of activities
Tasks and workshops might include planting, watering and weeding the vegetables. Harvesting and packing the vegetable boxes. Feeding, cleaning and checking and handling the farm animals; Processing produce, cheese making, jam and chutney making, fruit pressing; Woodland tasks such as coppicing, charcoal burning and green woodworking; Beekeeping; Bushcraft.
