Manchester Climate Change Champions
With worsening drought in Africa, with record breaking heat in Texas and
the worst flooding ever on the Mississippi, the North pole shrinking
and the permafrost melting (and the record breaking list could go on),
we still we can't say categorically that these disasters are caused by
man-made Climate Change.
But what kind of world will our children be living in if we wait to find
out? And is inaction worth the risk? Do we have power to make a safer
future?
By signing up to the programme your school will have the opportunity to
address such questions, focus on the basic science of Climate Change and
be a part of the global solution. We know what actions we need to take
and it is the simple solutions that are often the most effective: by
being more energy conscious, insulating and simply turning things off
when they're not in use, some 20 -30% of our energy use can be saved.
