Our Work

We work across Greater Manchester supporting:

• Schools and their staff (teachers, head teachers, teaching assistants, business managers, catering managers, grounds managers, support staff, governors and more);
• School pupils;
• Further Education Colleges and Universities;
• Other organisations and individuals such as charities, projects, businesses and individuals offering educational services engaged in environmental sustainability;
• Local government and other statutary bodies.

We provide:

Green Schools Network

MEEN currently runs the Green Schools Network for Eco School coordinators, Sustainability Leads and various environmental education providers. Funded by Manchester City Council, the aim is for schools to share case studies, to discuss how to implement different environmental projects and include updates and discussions on any relevant policy.

Intergenerational networking events

MEEN also runs networking with the aim of bringing different people from the wider community together. We invite pupils to present alongside environmentalists and professionals, so we can learn together and from each other.

School project packages and CPD

We also provide CPD, school packages and specific projects requested by schools that help us learn about different aspects of sustainability education.

Beehive

This free newsletter is sent out to all Manchester schools and MEEN members once a term. Beehive provides information about the latest network events, reviews new resources and provides up to date contacts.

The MEEN Directory is a valuable resource as it lists contacts for local organisations, resource catalogues, funding opportunities and places to visit.
