Save Our Soils intergenerational conference and MEEN AGM

MEEN is hosting an intergenerational conference called Save Our Soils on Friday 6th July, 10 - 2.30pm at Bridge 5 Mill, Ancoats, M4 7HR. MEEN's AGM will follow between 2.30pm and 3pm.

The conference is intended to bring together pupils, school Eco coordinators, other educators, growers and gardeners, NGOs, politicians, businesses, academics, students, in fact anyone interested in learning about soils or sharing their knowledge, experience or expertise.

The conference will cover many issues focusing on soil as a valuable habitat, as a provider of food and resources and as an important climate change regulator. We will examine soil contamination and impoverishment and, most importantly, offer ideas about how we can improve and remediate the soil in our schools and gardens, our city and countryside.

We will be covering these topics with key note speakers Jenny Hall and Andrew Clark; a range of workshops will be delivered by young and old and there will be two sessions from the floor, like 'Teach Meets', offering an opportunity for the schools involved in the Save Our Soils project to present their findings and for everyone else to share their knowledge, skills and ideas in relation to soils and educating others about soils.
