What do they do?

LEAF promotes and facilitates the understanding and adoption of more sustainable farming practices, helping to create a resilient food and farming system for future generations.
Through our education and public engagement work, LEAF connects children, young people and wider society with farming and food, helping them understand how food can be produced more sustainably, how farming can work with nature and the role they can play in a more resilient and sustainable food and farming future.

What support is offered to schools?

We provide trusted, balanced and curriculum-relevant learning that connects young people with more sustainable farming and the people around the world who produce their food. We help them understand how food is produced and how farming can work with nature through our LEAF Demonstration School programme; virtual farm visits, in school workshops and farm visits to see sustainable farming in practice; Farming Fortnight and Open Farm Sunday; accredited Initial Teacher Training and Continued Professional Development opportunities;  and Countryside Classroom – an online resource platform managed by LEAF for age and curriculum related resources and activities in food, farming and the environment.
