The Country Trust

What do they do?

The Country Trust is a charity dedicated to bringing alive the working countryside for children least able to access it. This is done through hands-on curriculum linked activities such as farm visits, food enterprise projects, cooking and growing activities. The charity fundraises so that these programmes can be provided at no cost to eligible primary schools. Eligibility is defined as those primary schools with a higher than average percentage of children eligible for Free School Meals, or specialist SEND schools.

What support is offered to Schools?

The Country Trust runs various programmes including Farm Discovery, Food Discovery and Farm in a Box as well as Countryside Residentials. The services of the Trust are provided at no cost to eligible schools, there are no entrance fees to sites and where funding allows, they may be able to help the school with the cost of transport.
