What do they do?

They provide inspiring opportunities for young people to enjoy and value the Peak District National Park; enable all to engage with the natural environment through direct experience and support and encourage people to secure a sustainable future for the Peak District National Park.

What support is offered to schools?

The Learning and Discovery Team provide high quality education services providing teacher resources, professional training courses and activities for young people at primary including Woodland Stories and Nature Discovery (Early Years and KS1), River Studies and Habitats (KS2) and Geographical and Scientific Enquiry for secondary. They are also supporting self-led school visits.

Example of activities

Day visits for schools in Macclesfield Forest hunting for the Gruffalo or examining Rocks and Soils at Longdendale Environmental Education Centre.
