What do they do?
MEEN supports people involved in Education for Sustainability to share good practice. They run training events, deliver CPD training for schools, run a variety of projects, provide contacts and information and encourage partnership working.
What support is offered to Schools?
MEEN runs network events for educators across Greater Manchester interested in environmental education and education for sustainability. We support schools to become more sustainable by helping them create Climate Action Plans and we support the Eco Schools programme. MEEN also delivers projects with young people in schools whether in formal or informal settings. We work with Eco Committees, governors, other school staff, parents and the school's wider community.
Example of activities
MEEN has worked with schools on projects such as the Carbon Classroom where young people become community educators on climate change.
