What do they do?

The Southport Eco Visitor-Centre is cited on the Esplanade Park and Ride site, close to Southport's famous seafront. The Centre is a unique gateway for travel into Southport, offering a practical demonstration of sustainability and inspiring visitors to consider their impact on the environment through stimulating information and displays about energy, transport, climate change and tourism.

What support is offered to Schools?

Visits need to be booked. All sessions are curriculum linked and interactive environmental education workshops, covering a wide range of subjects including climate change, renewable energy, green transport, water conservation and coastal management. Core activities are based around the unique eco features of the building itself, including a guided tour of the site, an activity based around the hands-on display boards, and an interactive environmental quiz. They also have topics which involve site visits, for example, to Formby beach. Sessions are usually a full day (9:30-2:30), but can be designed to meet your needs.
