Southport Eco Centre

What do they do?

The Southport Eco Centre has been delivering award winning, inspirational sessions to school, further education and community groups from the North West region and beyond for over 20 years.

The resident teachers provide fun, hands-on education covering a wide range of topics both in a classroom environment and outdoor settings. All visits are designed to enhance the current curriculum and offer innovative learning opportunities for all.

The team are also constantly designing, developing and project-managing a wide variety of educational resources and events for schools and communities.

What support is offered to Schools?

They offer a wide range of topic based visits in both classroom and outdoor settings. All visits are linked to the National Curriculum and cross curricular. Topics include climate change, sustainability, coastal change, natural disasters, rainforests, habitats and Stone Age.

All their resources, both digital and physical, are bespoke to their service and designed in-house by teaching staff, offering innovative learning opportunities for all. They design all visits to suit your classes, there is no 'one size fits all'.

Visits need to be booked and full days are recommended (minimum 4 hours in most cases). Double class groups can be accommodated for most topics. New days are continuously being developed and bespoke lesson plans can be devised to complement topics you are studying back at school.

Digital resources (example) can be accessed via subscription options nationwide and giant board games supporting most topics can be purchased by contacting the education team (use above email).
