What do they do?

Cronkshaw Fold Farm is a diverse working hill farm in the Alden Valley that operates on organic and environmental principles. Beyond being a working farm transitioning to 100% renewable energy, it is a dedicated Study Centre offering a wide variety of educational, practical, and therapeutic visits. The farm provides a welcoming, hands-on environment where students can connect with nature, learn about sustainable agriculture, and interact with the farm's goats, sheep, poultry, and honey bees.
 

What support is offered to schools?

The farm offers highly adaptable visits for students of all ages and grades—there really is something for everyone! Every visit is tailored specifically to the needs, abilities, and curriculum goals of your group, ensuring the experience is always fun while providing great learning opportunities.

Students can get hands-on with animal care, explore healthy soil and grassland projects, and learn about the farm's climate-positive technologies (like their new government-funded portable chicken unit). Beyond standard curriculum-linked field trips, the farm provides:
